Pierce Returns from Injury to Lead Celtics

feature photo

Halfway through the third quarter of NBA Finals Game 1, Paul Pierce seemed to prolong a severe knee injury and was carried on a wheelchair toward the locker room. It only took less than five minutes when Pierce returned skipping through the tunnel. Obviously, the inspirational and emotional lift he gave the crowd was a huge one not to mention his striking back-to-back three point shots which lead the Boston ahead at the end of the third quarter.

There are some speculations that the injury was just an act seeing that he looked like he would never be able to play again as he writhed on the floor; and then next he scored 19 points with a wrap on his right knee. Pierce suffered what the doctor described as strained meniscus. Fortunately, the pain subsided as he did a little lateral moving and prompted Boston to a 98-88 win. Let’s just see who’s going to prevail in the best of seven Finals.
